Lost and found again

Publié le par Adreena

I've spent 3 years on Luminaire. I'm one of the numerous alumnis of the University of Caille. There's nothing like being a stranger somewhere to make you realize where you come from. The first months, I was "The Sebbie" : a small thing, totally lost and hardly able to articulate a few sentences. Those were 3 great years : I learned a lot of things, I had tons of fun, I met great people. By the end, I was still "The Sebbie" : I suppose it's not the kind of things you can shrug off -not that I wanted too. To be honest, I was probably more Sebiestor there than I was home. Some of the Gallentes I met there became -how can i say it : Minmatar enthusiasts ? Which was both oddly pleasing and deeply unsettling. Oddly pleasing because when I discovered that my daily, boring life in Svaradadalur was considered "awesome" I felt pride. Deeply unsettling because I needed this to feel pride in the first time and perkele, tatoos aren't a fashion statement. Anyway when I got my degree in Gallente litterature (1), we promised each others to stay in touch, I went back home, a year passed with fewer and fewer contacts, I decided to start the capsuleer program and I lost contact with pretty much everything and everyone for two years.

And then there's that. Over 360 deaths and injuries during a celebration of Gallente an Minmatar friendship. And I was simply scared, because knowing those friends I left behind, it's the kind of celebration they would attend to. So scared that for the first few days I didn't make any move to try and look for news of them. Which is bad, I know. And would have been of little use since the Federation refused to disclose the names of the dead and injured (except for Karin Midular and don't get me started on that). I asked a capsuleer, Morwen, who was already there, if she could look for them -she was kind enough to do so, but sadly to no avail.

So I went there, following Morwen's advice. Absolutely not knowing what to do : I am no family, I've never met their family, the Republic way of smoothing procedures is highly frowned upon in the Federation... and if I don't find anything, then what ? Maybe they weren't even there. My mind built so many scenarii on my way there I thought all of them were covered.

And it was surprisingly fruitful. In a way that I didn't expect, obviously. I was in the hospital hall, not sure where to go, and I heard "Still lost ?"

I was looking for three persons -two of them were there. The third... well, they lost contact with him too. 'G' who saw me in the hall, was unharmed -just a few bruises from the panic. His wife -that was a news I didn't expect- unfortunately suffered from a few fractures for the same reason. As for 'L', we weren't able to see him. Seems he was seriously wounded, but the doc was kind enough to let us know that it's nothing they can't handle.

Anyway. It was good to reconnect with them, even considering the circumstances.
Have a nice day !

(1) What, you thought I would have gone through those lengths to learn something about mechanic or engineering ? Please.
